Volume VII - ARCHIVED

Don't feel much like writing today. Kinda worn down by three 6-day work weeks. So here's your dosage: it's a good mix of new and old. Plus it has a song by Bitch. Take it like a man.

Volume VI - ARCHIVED

THIS EPISODE HAS BEEN ARCHIVED

Dokken. Yes, THAT Dokken, added on here as a gesture of celebration for my friend Joel -he'll get it. DOKKEN - they of the poofy hairdos and glitzy Nightmare on Elm Street IV (III?) videos. Don't scoff, the two songs presented here (one song and an intro really) are excellent examples of what these fellers were capable of when they wanted to put the pedal to the metal. The whole point of the podcast, by the way, is to expose people to good tunes, regardless of how "cool" the band is our how "uncool" they are. Same with the Motley Crue song here. Don't make me whip out some Loudness on your asses!

Feeling a little defensive this morning? Why yes I am, thank you.

Also included this episode: Canada's Barn Burner, some dramatic and slightly-over-the-top prog metal from Italy's Rhapsody of Fire, classic thrash from Holy Terror and Repulsion, classic hardcore from Final Conflict (Ashes to Ashes is one of the best LPs the 80's ever produced), the UK's Ripcord and NYC's Antidote plus new stuff from Unleashed (such a great album!), Black Moth and Tempest (raw and unforgiving, excellent stuff).

We end with Dio's Black Sabbath. The three tunes here are lumped together as one, just like on the LP, because they really are inseparable and you'd be doing yourself a disservice listening to them individually. Finally, we start with a new and (I hope) improved podcast jingle that incorporates Morrissey and is also about 45 seconds shorter: less talk, more rock.

Enjoy.
